National Service Scheme (NSS)

Developing student's personality through community service and social responsibility at Millat College, Laheriasarai.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the student youth of our college to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes.

The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service. It helps students understand the community in which they work, identify the needs and problems of the community, and involve them in problem-solving.

Our Initiatives

Key NSS Activities

Our dedicated NSS volunteers actively participate in various social and environmental awareness programs throughout the year.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Regular cleanliness drives in and around the campus and adopted villages to promote a hygienic environment.

Tree Plantation

Extensive afforestation and tree plantation drives to combat climate change and make the campus green.

Blood Donation Camps

Organizing annual blood donation camps in collaboration with local hospitals and the Red Cross Society.

Awareness Rallies

Conducting rallies on road safety, anti-drug campaigns, gender equality, and voter awareness.

Special 7-Day Camp

An annual residential camp in an adopted village focusing on rural development and health checkups.

Disaster Relief

Active participation in providing relief materials and support during floods or other natural calamities in Bihar.

Empowering youth for nation building

The NSS unit of Millat College is a vibrant platform that bridges the gap between the campus and the community.

Through NSS, we aim to instill the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources.

I invite all energetic and socially conscious students to join the NSS unit of our college. Let us work together to build a better, cleaner, and healthier society.
