A foundation stone laid in 1956

Established in the year 1956 , Millat College, Laheriasarai, a premier constituent college of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU), is committed to academic excellence and holistic student development. The College was established as a distinguished higher education institution to provide quality academic programmes to learners from diverse backgrounds in the Darbhanga region.

The visionary founders laid the foundation stone of the College in 1956 . With affiliation to Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, and under the able guidance of its early leadership, dedicated teachers were appointed to teach foundational classes for Arts, Sciences, and Commerce, along with degree courses for BA, BSc, and BCom to the initial batches of students.

The student strength and academic reputation of the institution increased significantly in the following years — a testament to its commitment to higher education.

Being a prominent co-educational institution of this region, the College attracted progressive and capable students, and has produced prominent alumni from its initial batches itself.
